The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) reports that since 1972, its member paper mills have reduced energy consumption per ton of product produced by nearly one-quarter.
Since 1980, the AF&PA’s member companies have cut sulfur dioxide emissions per ton of production by 64% and nitrogen oxide emissions by nearly one-third.
